Doris Viola Fourhman

Of Des Moines, WA passed away in her sleep on March 10th, 2016 at Wesley Health Center at the age of 88.

She was born in Enumclaw, WA on August 7th, 1927, the 14th child of Fred and Margaret Weston.  Doris grew up in Enumclaw, attended Osceola School and Enumclaw High School.  After high school, she went to nursing school at Virginia Mason in Seattle.  

She married Robert Fourhman of Dover, PA on July 23rd, 1949.  Doris worked part time at Virginia Mason while raising her family and then later worked at Highline Hospital until she retired.  She loved to sew, play cards, was involved in Camp Fire while her girls were young, and enjoyed many camping trips and car trips across the country to visit Bob’s family in PA.

 Doris is survived by her daughters Margaret Fourhman and Diane (Jeff) Martinson and 3 granddaughters Melissa, Megan, and Amanda.  She is preceded in death by her husband Bob, children Michael and Michelle, and all of her siblings. 

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 29th at 11:00 AM at Glendale Lutheran Church in Burien followed by a reception in the fellowship room.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer society or to Glendale Lutheran church.

Dear Marg, Di, Jeff and all the fam on the West coast,

Know that all of us here on the East coast are praying for all of you as you celebrate your mother's life tomorrow, March 29th. I personally have many fond memories of Aunt Doris and I will always remember her love for all of us. Blessings to all of you as you adjust to life without your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Doris was always so kind and thoughtful. She was an inspiration and set a good example for others to follow.

Doris was such a special friend to my mom, Shirley Probasco.

I'm sure they must be having fun playing Bridge in heaven.
