Obituary

John Joseph Wagner passed away May 15, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born December 22, 1924 in Portland, Oregon.  John was a U.S. Army World War II combat veteran, served in the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he attended Oregon State University and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from OSU, John moved to Seattle to begin a 37 year career as an Aerospace Engineer with the Boeing Company until his retirement.

John was devoted to his family, and enjoyed home improvement projects, gardening, travel, Seattle Symphony Pops concerts and local dining. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Doris, son Paul, daughter Lisa, sister Rosemary (Pat) Atkins, and niece Jackie Hanan; His brother Jack predeceased him.

He didn’t want to leave us,

We didn’t want him to go

Like many things in life,

            We have no control

So we hugged him,

            And kissed him,

And said may God bless this wonderful man’s soul

Prayer and verse:  Mathew 6:9-13 (NKJV)

“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come.  Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.  For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

Dear Doris, Lisa and Paul,

We're sorry to hear of John's passing. My favorite memory is when I first met him. I was five and it was at your wedding, Doris. You looked like a princess and he was the most dashing man ever! I was in awe.

Hugs to you all!

Doris, Paul, & Lisa,

May you all find some peace in knowing what a wonderful man and neighbor John was. He and my John are probably having a great time catching up on all the neighborhood. My love and prayers to you all.
