Obituary

Gerald B. Ristine,

Gerald B. Ristine was born in Buffalo, MT on March 21, 1928 to Fredrick B. Ristine and Syble (Olson) Ristine. He moved to the Shelton area in 1935 with his parents and his sisters, Maxine and Dolores. He graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1947. In the fall of 1948 he enrolled at Southern Methodist University for photography school and later returned to Shelton where he met Evelyn Fitzthum. They were married at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in 1949.

In 1953 they moved to Renton, WA where Gerald began work with the Boeing Company. He retired in 1990. During retirement he and Evelyn traveled around the United States until her death in 2005.

Gerald had many interests from carpentry and woodwork, traveling, gardening, and music. But most consuming was his interest in photography, which was both part of his work and a hobby. Whether traveling or at a family gathering Gerald was known for taking pictures. He amassed a large collection of slides and photo prints over the years.

Gerald is survived by his children Ken (Jan) Ristine, Karen (Ralph) Osgood, Stuart (Kathy) Ristine, Tony (Gina) Ristine, and Kevin (Sandi) Ristine; seven grandchildren (Amy, Chris, Matt, Kate, Megan, Andrew, and Sarah), and nine greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Dolores (Robert) Thomas.
