Obituary

Franklin Jean Mock (Sloan)

9/27/1927 – 11/20/2017

Frankie passed away, in her home, at the age of 90.  She joins her husband Robert, of 62 years, who preceded her in death in 2009.  Born in Loveland, Colorado in 1927, she resided in Berthoud till 1941 when her family moved to Seattle.  She graduated from Franklin High School.

Frankie is survived by their children, Thomas Mock, Teresa Millington, Carol Laverdure (Jim), Gloria Englin (Marc) and Lois Mock.  She had five grandchildren, Katrina Scheeler, George Millington, Stephanie Casler, Brooke Englin and Jayme Laverdure. Great Grandchildren Hannah, Steven, Samantha and Emily.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Haskel (Swede) and Ron Sloan and sister Georgia.  She leaves her brother Buck Sloan and sister Donna Bracken.

Franklin devoted her life to her family.  She was the homemade cookie kind of mom, who could also be known to make matching outfits for the entire family.  She loved to garden and could grow just about anything.  She would get everyone out picking blackberries to make the most delicious jellies and pies.  She spent summers packing picnic lunches to take to the lake, or packing up the old station wagon for a trip to Colorado, with interesting stops along the way.  She was active with the Campfire Girls organization and was a group leader to a lot of girls over the years.

Frankie will be missed by all who knew her.

Please join us in celebrating her life, Saturday, December 16 at 12:30 PM at Saint Thomas Catholic Church, 4415 South 140th Street, Tukwila WA  98168.  Reception at the church following services.

I knew Frankie thru her children. To me she was a wonderful lady. She was always friendly and polite. You could tell how close she and her family were. Very loving and caring. I know she's with her husband and both are very happy to be together again! Rest In Peace Frankie!
