Ruth M Zanella
Oct 22, 1922 – Dec 26, 2017
Ruth passed away peacefully at the home she shared with her loving husband of 71 years, Vincent Zanella.
She was born in Ironwood, Michigan to Margaret and Peter Lotzer. She married Vince in August, 1946, where they lived until they moved to Federal Way in 1957.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Vincent J. Zanella; her sister Shirley Hanesko; and two brothers, William Lotzer and James Lotzer. She leaves behind three sons, Raymond (Rose), James (Kathy), and Lawrence (Pam). She and Vincent have six grandchildren: Felicia Radaker (Matthew), Angela Zanella, Jessica Villanueva (Adrian), Vincent Zanella (Alison), Gina Miller (John), and Mariana Stepp (Marty). She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Ruth devoted her life to her family and her faith. In her younger days she enjoyed figure skating and dancing, and attended aerobics weekly until 10 years ago. She was an amazing cook and seamstress, and enjoyed knitting for her and her husband as well as gardening.
She and Vincent are founding members of Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way.
The family wishes to thank Federal Way's Saint Francis Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful, compassionate care during Ruth's final months. We also appreciate the kindness and skill of the very special caregivers with Wiser Care Services.
