It was in 1986 that I first met Haldane and Ethel Duff. Dr. Lehman Strauss had double-booked his schedule and I was asked to substitute for him. That began a long and blessed fellowship. Over the succeeding years, we made many trips to Park of the Pines and believe that God used that ministry mightily in the lives of many people.

When we think of Ethel, we compare her in one way to another woman in the Bible - the woman who approached Jesus boldly in Matthew 15. Jesus said that her faith was great, the only person about whom He said this in Matthew's Gospel. Ethel, too, was a woman of great faith.

She had great faith in supporting Haldane in his desire to have a continuing Bible Conference ministry. When Haldane passed away, she evidenced great faith in continuing the dream Haldane had with the result that Park of the Pines had fifty years of exceedingly fruitful ministry. Many people over the years were touched as a result of that ministry.

We were privileged to be a part of that ministry. We believe Ethel received a "well done, thou good and faithful servant" on her promotion to glory. She will undoubtedly be missed., but the legacy of her ministry will continue for many years. The Hubbards (Don and Joy)

I knew Ethel Duff as a charming lady with the gift of hospitality. After a Haldane death she gave a strong commitment to leadership. She will be greatly missed.

It was an honor to be Ethel’s friend and helper. She was a rare and true lady~~always dressing with a coordinating style and acting professionally, but with a sparkle of humor too.

We’ve had a lifetime of fun & friendship (including duets on the triple-octave shaker chimes).

She was faithful to the trust God gave her & very diligent to the very end. Her desire was to always keep the work of the LORD ongoing. Ethel helped many struggling people along life’s way. She had an inner strength that many people would like to have, but she had that incredible strength without effort.

Our Ethel will be greatly missed!

The family of Ethel Duff is eternally grateful to all of those who looked after her with such love and compassion and who made her final years so much more than they could have been. Without their tireless devotion she could not have remained in her home as long as she did nor would she have been guaranteed the level of care and attention she was provided wherever she went. To the Gran's, Jose & Family, Valerie and all the rest -- our sincere thanks! For my myself, Aunt Ethel was part of my life for 75 years and her passing represents not just the lost of a wonderful person but the end of an era in our family.
