Roberta M. Kawahara (née Gulish) 77yo of Des Moines, WA died on August 24th 2018, suddenly. 

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday September 1st at Atonement Lutheran Church 740 S 128th St Burien WA 98168. Pastor Jason Swan of Atonement Lutheran Church will be officiating. Interment will be held later privately for the family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bonney Watson Sea-Tac. 

Roberta was born in Cleveland Ohio on March 1st 1941. She graduated from John Adams High. Roberta married Donald Kawahara on Jan 6th 1973 and they were married for 45 years.  She worked as an operator for Ohio Bell before moving to Hawaii.  While living in Hawaii she worked at various places including Hawaiian Tel and Our Savior Lutheran Church as a secretary until 1992 when they moved to Washington State. She enjoyed singing, reading, watching her granddaughters in their activities, and helping with church activities.  

Roberta is survived by her husband Donald, daughter Alyssa Lettiere, son Sean, son in law Aaron,  granddaughters Isabella and Emilia, her sisters Christine Ubongen and Lynn Avenmarg, her nephews Raymond Jr, David, and Brian, and niece Melissa, as well as other family and friends.  

Roberta is preceded in death by her dad George, mom Irene, sister Joan, brother in laws George and Del, and nephew Ken.

Donald, Alyssa and Sean,
