Obituary

James Larry Knutson Jim August 8, 1940 – August 27, 2011. He was a devoted father of five daughters, a brother, son and a valued friend to many. James earthly journey came to a peaceful end amongst both family and friends at home per his request. While his time here seemed too short, he lived a full life and left behind many happy memories for us all to cherish.

Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Harry & Cloe Knutson and the family moved to the Kent Valley in 1940. He joined the National Guard in 1957 while still in school and graduated from Kent Meridian High school in 1958. Shortly after enlisted in the US Army to serve our country. Jim attended Treasure Valley Community College where he received his Associate of Science- Aviation degree. Jim started his career with Associated Sand & Gravel / CSR Associated in 1971 and retiring in 2001 as the Everett General Manager Asphalt Division, where he met some of his lifelong friends.

His greatest love was spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and friends. His passions outside of his family included his lifetime love of thorough-bred horse racing, traveling and fishing.

Jim is survived by his long time companion Sharon Britton of Auburn, WA. Five daughters; Cindy Conker of Renton, WA, Kyly Heppenstall and son in-law Ron of Everett, WA, Elizabeth Endicott and son in-law Michael of Winlock, WA, Karrie Ayers of Everett, WA and Jamie Masters and son in-law Lonnie of North Bend, WA and Along with many Grandchildren; George Okai, Steven Hatch, Ryan Peterson, Alisha Roberts, Blake Ayers, Cameron Peterson, Gaven Ayala, Christopher Heppenstall, Brandon Wagner and Brady Masters. Great-grandchildren; Georgie Jr., Kailea, Ashlley and Andrew Okai, Christopher Roberts, Riley Hatch and Benjamin James Ayers. Jim’s mother Cloe Knutson of Kent, WA, brother and sister in-law Bill and Pat Knutson of Kent, WA and several nieces & nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Harry Knutson, sister Elaine Hanson and granddaughter EmmaLee Ayala.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday September 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Bonney Watson Washington Memorial 16445 International Blvd, Sea Tac, WA 98118, 206-242-1787.
A reception to follow at Bill and Pat Knutson’s home directions will be available at the service.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers a memorial donation be made to The Cancer Center in Everett, WA in honor of Jim’s life at http://www.cancerpartnership.org/AboutUs/Donate.ashx?p=1364

I LOVED STOPPING BY JIM’S HOUSE ON MY WALKS AROUND THE BLOCK. JIM WAS ONE OF THE BEST FRIENDS A PERSON COULD HAVE. YOU WILL BE MISSED JIM.
