Elizabeth “Tish” Vergillo (Mellor)
An exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt & friend. Born in Seattle on October 19, 1921 to George W. Mellor and Rose Bailey, she left this earth peacefully on February 21, 2014 at the age of 92. Tish was born & raised in Columbia City, and was a 1940 graduate of Franklin High School. She met the love of her life, Martin Morasch Vergillo in 1938 and they wed on February 14, 1941. A 55 year love story ensued, until his passing in 1996.
The quintessential homemaker, she used her talent of baking, gardening & gathering loved ones to create memorable celebrations especially at Christmas & SeaFair. She will be remembered for her generous nature, patience and staunch Democratic beliefs. She was predeceased by her 5 siblings, husband Marty, and beloved son Mickey in 2010. She is survived by son Timothy & wife Kay, daughter-in-law Sandie, 5 grandchildren and their spouses, and 12 great grandchildren.
