Obituary

 

Charlotte Dora Holmes, 77, passed away on February 21, 2014 at home in Bucoda, WA.  She was born on June 28, 1936 in Nampa, ID to Glen and Ruth Hartley.  She worked for the Boeing Company, where she worked for 35 years retiring as a supervisor.

Charlotte married James Holmes in 1972 in Forks, WA.  They were happily married for 41 years.  She enjoyed making quilts and sewing and loved spending time with her family.  Charlotte is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Holmes of Bucoda, WA; her sons, Bruce Holmes of Bonney Lake, Gregg Holmes of Camano Island, Eric Holmes of Pacific, and daughter, Dawna Grenell of Bothell,.  A brother Don Hartley (Shirley) of SeaTac, and sister Glenna Russell of Bellevue, Grandchildren: Linda, Jennifer, Michelle, Dennis, Amber, Becky, Noel, Jeffrey, Jessie, Matthew, Jessica, Anthony, Angela,and Danielle. Great grandchildren: Emory, Aubrey, Evan, Aspen, Kailyn, Mia, Melody, Bentley, Jocelyn, Mason, Jimmy and Emma. Great Grandchildren to come, Jackson and Audrey. Nephews and Nieces: Scott, Kellye, Steven, Trisha, Jon, Dan, Tom, and Cousin Alford Higgins who lived with her.  Charlotte was preceded in death by parents, Glen and Ruth Hartley, son, James Holmes Jr. and nephew, Lance Russell.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM at Washington Memorial Park, 16645 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA  on Thursday, February 27, 2014. There will be a potluck reception following the service  at The Matero’s at 26606 214TH PL. SE, Maple Valley, WA. at 2:30pm

In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in Charlotte Holmes name.
