Rick Delove passed away on August 21, 2026, in Renton, Washington, at the age of 54.

Born on November 6, 1971, in San Francisco, California, Rick moved to Seattle at 1 year old and made his name there for the rest of his life. He graduated from Kentridge High School in June 1990 and, after graduation, “took off running,” building a life defined by drive, originality, and constant motion.

Rick’s work and pursuits reflected the wide range of his interests and talents. Over the years, he worked as a server, bartender, and blackjack dealer, and he also pursued business as an entrepreneur. He was a producer and star of his own local cable television show, the starter of “Billy Bob Barter World,” and the force behind “The Delove Group.” He was also known as a cannabis connoisseur and, to many, “The Peoples Champ.” He was always beginning a new business venture and looking for ways to share his talents with the world.

Those who knew Rick knew a man of big presence and big personality. He was hilarious, hardworking, passionate, and insightful, with an unforgettable laugh and a sense of humor that stayed with people. He was described as “a real one,” a true genius, and an inspiration to so many. Rick shared his wisdom freely with anyone willing to listen, and he left a lasting impression on countless hearts through his energy, his ideas, and the way he moved through the world.

Rick had a deep love for fashion and the arts. He was an artist himself and enjoyed painting. He was also a foodie with an appetite for all things “feel good.” He loved movies and could come up with three alternative endings before the plot was even laid out. Music of all kinds was part of his life, and his many hobbies reflected a restless, creative spirit. He loved a good walk through a Seattle park and had an intriguing mind that could see things others could not. Everywhere he went, he made a friend, or five. To know him was to love him.

Rick’s legacy lives on through his daughter, Avena Love; granddaughters; his brother; his sister-in-law; his niece and nephew; and the many, many friends he called family. He is reunited in God’s hands with his beloved mother, Shirley Mae.

Rick Delove left a mark on the hearts of so many, and his memory lives on in the stories, laughter, art, and love he shared throughout his life. He will be remembered as a man who made an impression wherever he went and who brought his own unmistakable spirit to every room. His favorite catch phrase, “Wasabi Bobbi,” remains one more unforgettable part of the life and voice he brought to those around him.

Join us in celebrating and sharing stories of his unique life lived! A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Gas Work Parks in Seattle on October 10th, 2026, at 5:00pm.
