Rosa Idalia Guerrero Rodriguez

We lost our beloved Rosa on December 7, 2021 at the tender age of 58.  Rosa Idalia Rodriguez Guerrero was born on August 11, 1963 in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico to Carlos and Rosa Guerrero. She was from a big family, three brothers (Jaime, Rolando, and Jorge) and two sisters (Maricela and Ana). Leaving Mexico at a young age, she and her family settled in Dallas, TX.  Rosa married the love of her life Francisco Rodriguez in October of 1979 and they had three children (Carlos, Yajaira, and Daisy). The family moved from Dallas to Kent, Washington in 1995. The family eventually settled in Tacoma, where they live today.  Rosa’s family included her sons-in-law John, Tim, daughter-in-law Maricruz, and three granddaughters Roxanna, Alexandra, and Charlotte.  

Rosa was outgoing, vivacious, friendly, and welcomed everyone she met with open arms. All who knew her loved her, she had a great sense of humor and a contagious smile. Rosa loved sewing, gardening, music, dancing, and traveling, especially cruising the Caribbean. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the butterflies and the hummingbirds fluttering around her garden. She also loved spending time with her family, she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her grandchildren. Rosa was a Texas girl through and through, when visiting she enjoyed catching up with relatives, eating BBQ, drinking Big Red soda, and smelling the bluebonnets. Rosa dedicated her life to helping others, she worked for SeaMar Community Clinic for over 20 years, participated in Relay for Life and donated to countless organizations throughout her life. As a Lymphoma survivor, one of her favorites was the American Cancer Society. Religion was very important to her; she was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Theresa Parish in Federal Way. You would never catch her without her rosary or her prayer book. She is now in heaven with the Lord, her family, and friends that preceded her in death. 

Services will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Parish in Federal Way, WA on December 29, 2021 at 11am and a celebration of life reception at Twin Lakes Country Club. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association in honor of Rosa.
