Ruth Eileen (Ingersoll) Dooner

Ruth died on September 6th, 2015 at the age of 82.  She was born August 15th, 1933 in Wenatchee Washington to Edgar Elsworth and Zora Leneau Ingersoll and raised on the family Colockum cattle ranch.

After graduating from High School in Wenatchee, Ruth set out for Lur College in San Francisco, California where she met this tall skinny Navy guy named Tom who turned out to be the love of her life. They married and lived in Ohio for a short time. They moved to Seattle and bought a home in 1957 where they lived for many years raising their 3 children.

Ruth worked for the Boeing Company until she retired in 1990 after 25 years of credited service. She made many long term friends over those years and was respected by her co-workers for her dedication and diligence.  Ruth enjoyed crocheting, bowling, traveling, dancing, her family, friends and rooting for her favorite team, the Seahawks! GO HAWKS!

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elner Breiler, her husband Thomas (Tom) Dooner and her son Timothy (Tim) Dooner.  Survived by her daughters Cheryl Mahan (Dennis), Eileen Kobbevik (Ken), four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Ruth has been a resident at GenCare “The Lodge at Eagle Ridge” over the past nine and a half years where she enjoyed participating in many activities, the other residents and all of the staff. Ruth had a unique sense of humor, giving everyone, including her daughters a quick pinch, a sarcastic or teasing remark, a silly little giggle, and usually had a quirky nickname for those she knew.  Ruth’s daughters would like to thank all of the staff at Gencare for the love, care and compassion they gave to Mom. We would also like to thank the Hospice caregivers for their support in Ruth’s final weeks of life.  Although we know for sure you are dancing the night away with Dad, we will miss you Mom.

A cryptside service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Chapel of Memories at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park, 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Ruth. Let God replace your grief with hope - Your anguish with peace. Remember, not that Ruth has died, but that she lived, and her life gave you memories too beautiful to forget. Although grief at the loss of Ruth is great - Joy of welcoming her back in the resurrection will be even greater, for the Bible promises, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (the voice of Jesus) and Come Out." (John 5:28,29)
