, 64, passed away unexpectedly on March 18th, 2016. Mark was born on June 27, 1951 in Seattle, Washington to Alene Seling (Kelley) and John Seling. Mark’s life was filled with professional accomplishments and deep personal connections with his community of family and friends. He resided in Steilacoom, WA for most of his adult life with his loving wife, Teresa Seling.
His friends and family know Mark as a selfless and generous man, enriching the lives of those he loved. His quick wit brightened any room that he entered and his 1,000 Watt smile will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Mark was widely known and well respected within the mental health community, and as a public servant he had many accomplishments including pioneering new methods of rehabilitation as the Director of PALS, winning Seling v. Young in 2001 while serving as the Superintendent of the Special Commitment Center in WA, and donating his time to the Greater Lakes Mental Health Board.
Mark will be greatly missed by his wife Teresa, daughter Hilary, brother Scott, his extended family of Tompkins and Kelleys, and his close friends Dave, Jim, Rick, Alan, Steve, and Gary to name just a few.
Services will be held at Bonney Watson 16445 International Blvd, SeaTac, WA 98188 on Saturday April 2nd at 11am followed by a celebration of his life at the facility.
