Keith E. Oien

Mar 18, 1930 – Dec 22, 2016

Keith E. OIEN

Keith passed away peacefully on December 22, 2016, with his loving wife at his side.  Keith was born March 18, 1930 to Sig and Adeline Oien.

He graduated from Enumclaw high school in 1948, was in the Navy for 2 years, and then attended college in Idaho to study Dairy.  He then worked for Safeway and Lucerne Dairy.

Keith married Mary S. Scott in 1952.  They bought their first disposal company in south Seattle in 1953.  They owned and operated several disposal companies in this area for the next 25 years.  Keith loved the work, the men, and the challenges of owning his own companies.  During that time Keith and Mary raised two daughters, Gayle and Janelle. Keith and Mary sold their businesses and retired in 1979.  They spent the next 35+ years enjoying each other, working outdoors, and taking long drives in the country.  Keith spent the last several years caring for his wife.

Keith lived a good life!  He’s survived by his wife of 64 years, his brother Jim Oien, two daughters, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
