On November 2, 2017, Anna Belle peacefully left us for the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.  She was born November 4, 1926 in Chignik, Alaska to Eli and Lena Metrokin and when a few months old, was the only baby to survive a whooping cough epidemic in the village.  They moved to Kodiak when she was about a year old.  During World War II, she met Donald Murphy, who was stationed in the Army in Kodiak.  After the war, she traveled to Seattle and they married and had six children.  Don died in October 1966.  Anna Belle’s favorite activities were cooking, baking, shopping the garage sales and oil painting.  She was a Eucharistic minister at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Burien for many years.

Anna Belle was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Jensen, daughter Donna Eileen Murphy, grandson Heath Martin Maxwell, and son-in-law’s Paul Hudson, and Fred Zimmerman.

She is survived by son Mark Murphy, daughters Kathleen Lumbert (Jim), Marlene Hudson, Patricia Kirk (Joe) and Mary Zimmerman, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Grandma, I'll sure miss you. You'll always be a part of me. Please tell mom my heart aches for her every day. And tell Heath I see him in Ian all the time. I have some of your paintings up in our house. They're painful to look at now but they're so beautiful. I love you, Grandma.
