Dr. William M. Bethel, D.D.S.

Nov 21, 1948 – Mar 16, 2018

Dr. William “Bill” Bethel passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 16th 2018. Bill was born November 21st, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas to Robert and Audra Bethel. He moved to the Seattle area in the 5th grade and later graduated from Foster High School. He attended the University of Washington, where he found his passion for being a dentist and helping others. Dr. Bethel has since been highly respected, by staff and colleagues, for his high-quality dentistry since he first opened his practice in Renton, WA in August 1974. Over the past 44 years, he has considered his staff and his generations of patients as family. He was known as a loving and passionate person, both in his professional and personal life.

Dr. Bethel was a devoted father to Nathaniel, Nicholas, and Justin Bethel; caring brother to his loving sisters Leanna Janssen, Jeanne Watkins, and Babs Buchanan, as well as brother-in-law Larry Laughlin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Jan Quick, Craig and David Janssen, Brad Miller, and Derek Schulte; family friends Jim Bergstrom and Bob Catton.

I just found out about Dr. Bethel's passing. I was one of his patients since the early 80s. I always appreciated his thoughtful approach, humor, and skill. I will miss him dearly.

I was a patient of Dr.Bethel since 1990. My now 22 year old daughter was also a patient and said he was the only dentist she has ever known. Dr: Bethel always had a way to make you feel important and would remember

Something that we discussed from my previous visit even though that had been 6 months prior. He had a truly remarkle memory and great sense of humor. He was very proud of his sons and would often update his patients on their lives. It is a true testament to how he loved his practice and how loyal his staff was to him. His turnover was very low and many his staff have been with him since I became a patient. My daughter just got accepted into UW and I know Dr. Bethel would of been so happy for her. We are here on earth for such a short period of time and Dr. Bethel made a positive impact on my life and many others. Thank you to his family for allowing us to share a small part of his life. He will be missed by many and never forgotten.

I can never thank you and your staff for your loving care you gave me and my teeth. I can remember you and Kelly staying late to finish a procedure on me, trying to get as much done as possible in one visit. You are family to me and my heart broke when Tanya told me that you had passed. Dr. Bill, you were one of a kind and heaven gained an amazing Angel!

Rest my Brother,rest.......
