Caroline Jeanette Pennington

Dec 21, 1925 – Feb 2, 2019

Obituary

Caroline Jeanette Pennington died February 2, 2019 in Seattle, WA, after a long and full life. She was born December 21, 1925 in Stanwood, WA to William M. Ross and Elsie M. Ross (Gunderson).   She married Wayne D. Pennington in 1951 and they were partners until his death in 2005.

Caroline loved family, playing tennis, walking, gardening, cooking, drawing, music, dancing, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her gardens and cookbook collection were sights to behold.  She was generous and had a great sense of humor. Fortunately, her strong will and active nature allowed her to live independently until her death. In fact, her children could not keep her from going up on the roof to clean drains and on ladders to trim trees in her 80s. She will always be remembered and greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter Ann Pennington of Auburn; son Stan Pennington and daughter-in-law Karen of Newcastle; 4 grandchildren: Jared Osborne, Trevor Osborne, Alex Pennington and Marissa Pennington; and 2 great-grandchildren: Elliot Osborne and Rowan Osborne.

Dear sweet friend. Just heard from Eileen that you are gone now to a different address I have tried to call you and email you but no answer. You always stopped by now and then to bring me a can of sardines cause we both liked sardines. I still have one can left. We sure had fun playing tennis though didn't we. Almost won that tourney but enjoyed many lunches and good times. Rest in Peace my friend. God go with you
