Nellie Amelia Cruz

Nellie Amelia Cruz, passed after a long illness on February 13, 2019, joining Alex on the eve of their 72nd wedding anniversary.

As a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, wife and friend, Nellie knew how to make people smile.  Along with her family she loved reading, gardening, and caring for her pets.  She had a deep faith and trust in God, a bright and lively mind, a strong sense of independence, and a wicked sense of humor.

Now we’d like to celebrate that life with her memorial service.

I would like to offer my condolences to you, Nellie's family and friends. Please be assured that our Heavenly Father feels your pain. Psalm 34:18 says that He is close to those who are broken hearted. It is comforting to know that He promises to wipe out all our tears and do away with death (Revelation 21:4). He also promises to bring back to life our dear loved ones who have fallen asleep in death (John 5:28, 29). Until that time, I hope these scriptures along with your loving memories of Nellie help to soothe your hearts and bring you comfort, peace and hope.

Grandma - beautiful inside and out. Your heart was gold and you always brought life to the party! Thank you for your wit, your belly laughter, your love for animals. You cherished your family and the simple things in life. When I see flowers, I see you.....blooming, bright and smiling in the sun. I miss you so much already. Keep an eye on us and save me a seat until I get there! I love you, Nessa
