Obituary

On April 6, 1959,  Thomas and Rosalie Boothe gave birth to Saundra Boothe at Queens General Hospital in New York City, New York. Thomas Boothe was the adventurous soul who moved the family to Portland Oregon. Saundra received her bachelor degree from Walla Walla University.  Saundra moved to Seattle Washington a few years after her mother passed way.  Seattle Washington became her home. Saundra had a quiet demeanor and kept to herself for much of her life. However, she had a bold spirit for Christ. She loved God and the Bible was her favorite subject. She may not have known this, but she taught Biblical principles and scriptures to many.

She loved her family, her church, her job and her best friend Marilyn, that took her from the quiet soul to the adventurous, fun loving, outgoing person we all loved and will miss. In her time of need, Saundra was loved by her friend Marilyn Fletcher and Volunteer Park Seven Day Adventist Church, that was there for any and everything she needed.  The support was truly glorious to behold.

Saundra will be missed by her Father, Thomas Boothe, her Sister, Linda Johnson, her brother, Anthony Saunders, her  Aunt, Deborah Charles, her niece Lenora Hall and several grand nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend that became family, Marilyn Fletcher.  Saundra would want me to give a special thanks to Marilyn and her church home.  Thank you for the warmth and love that gracefully held her hand until the Master took hold of her. It was a true vision of LOVE. Thank you.

I miss Saundra’s quiet presence and the way she smilingly ducked her head at Marilyn’s good-natured teasing—although she was quick to vocally defend herself!

Saundra showed her creativity in designing colorful and unique church greeter badges as well as special occasion cards for the foyer table.

With Marilyn’s encouragement, Saundra was just coming into her own as a Sabbath School teacher sharing her love of God and Scripture when illness overtook her.

I look forward to getting to know Saundra better in heaven and the new earth. I have only to follow the sound of Marilyn’s and Saundra’s laughter, as I’m sure I’ll find them together in the throngs surrounding Jesus.

My sister of the heart as well as in Christ, Saundra is missed daily. Now she sleeps in peace awaiting for Jesus. "For the LORD himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
