Obituary

Chanthy Venus Thann, who loved to be called “mommy” by her three children or “nana” by her
two grandchildren, departed her loving family on September 19, 2022, in the comfort of her
home, surrounded by her other three children, (yorkies), Thor, Zeus, and Pearl.

Chanthy was born in Battambang, Cambodia on June 4, 1973 to Mr. and Mrs. Thann. She was
the middle child of 5. She emigrated to the United States in the 1980s surviving the Cambodian
Genocide. The Thann Family made a long term home in the city of Kent, Washington.

Chanthy was a mom to Vanity, Tevin, and Brendan. She was a grandma (or nana) to Aria and
Tyson. She was a loving wife to Keith, and sister to Chantho, Chantha, Chanthou, and

Chanthy graduated from Kent Meridian High School in June of 1993, and graduated from
Green River College with an Associate’s in Business in 1997. She worked in the aerospace
industry as an engineering assistant and quality coordinator for 22 years before retiring in 2020.

Chanthy was known for the quality of the handful of dishes she perfected, not the quantity. She

Honey, I wanted you to know that I miss you so much and there isn’t a day that goes by that something doesn’t remind me of you.I am doing my best to come to terms that you aren’t here with us, but are guiding and scolding us from above. I love you and just miss all the crazy stuff you use to do, daily and just the fact that we had a deep love for each other. I love you sweetie.
