Obituary

Gloria Mae Traynor White Helms passed away at her home on April 7th, 2020. 

Born on August 5th, 1928 in Van Hook, ND, Gloria spent her formative years in North Dakota, graduating from Van Hook High School in 1946, and then attending business school at Wahpeton State College of Science. 

On May 10th, 1952, Gloria married John Andrew White at St. Bridget’s Parish in Parshall, ND. After marriage, Gloria and John moved to Seattle, WA, where Gloria worked for 36 years at the GE Company. John passed away in February of 1980, seven years before Gloria retired from GE in 1987.

On August 25th, 1994 Gloria married Phillip Walter Helms at St. Monica’s Parish on Mercer Island, WA. Gloria and Phil were married ten years before Phil passed away in January of 2003. 

Gloria loved attending church and socializing with friends and family. She graciously supported the Wesley Gardens Senior Living & Home Care, where she lived her final years. The White-Helms Chapel at Wesley Gardens is named in her honor. 

She is survived by her sister Mary Ellen Traynor Iverson, eight nieces and nephews, three nieces from her marriage with John White, and step-son Steve Helms and two step-grandchildren from her marriage with Phil Helms. 

She is preceded in death by parents Berniece (1956) and Frank (1983) Traynor, sister Patricia Traynor (1937), brother Darrell Traynor (1981), first husband John White (1980), second husband Phil Helms (2001), step-daughter Connie Baxter (2007), and step-daughter Carole Helms (2014).

A funeral for Gloria will be scheduled at a later date.

I am sorry about loss of your love . I give my condolences. I hope this finds comforting to the family which is found in Bible at. John 5: 28_29; which Jesus promised to his followers a resurrection of life to everyone.
