My dearest Shantelle and family. May God truly bless and keep you in this time of bereavement as you mourn the loss of your precious mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and woman of God. I was truly sadden to learn of her homegoing but was quickly reminded as I’m sure you also know that she is now in a better place of eternal peace, rest and comfort. Loveda truly left her gracious presence and firm mark on the City of Seattle. Those communities where she lived, worked and volunteered are much better off because of her! They know it, but Gods knows best about it. Shantelle, know that you are in my prayers that the Lord will comfort you during this transition. I think about you often and wondered where you were living and how you are doing because I frequently drive by a street named after you. I’m been informed now from the memorial write-up. God Bless You, from another old friend, Dee Anderson

Aunt Loveda, I will always cherish the memories of the family times we have shared together. My brothers and I always looked forward to coming to yours and Uncle Scott’s home. But most important, we knew we would be able to drink as many sodas we wanted to all day long without our mom being able to tell us “no more.” Also, the Thanksgiving dinners and the Easter egg hunts that you would have in the back yard and our yearly trips to the Puyallup Fair and I especially remember the time we went to the fair and the car got stuck on the railroad track and caught fire and how you two were rushing to get us out of the car. The three of us thought it was so exciting!!

I will always be thankful for the advice and etiquette teachings you taught me. I was to always say “yes” not “yeah,” to sit with my legs crossed at the knee or feet and to always carry myself with the up-most respect. I am now instilling these same values in my own daughters, niece and son. I also want to say a “special thank you” for taking such good care of my Grandma Rosie Pearl. You will truly be missed. Love,Your great niece Rochelle & Family

Heartfelt sympathy to the family of Loveda Scott. I worked with her on the board for the Aridell Mitchell Home in the ’90’s, and admired her very much. May your memories comfort you.

What a dynamic woman she was in her lifetime! A trend setter. Even though I didn’t know her personally I do know her daughter Shantelle who has inherited many of her mom’s fine characteristics. My condolences to the family and Shantelle. A celebration of her life should be had by all and I am sorry for your sorrow during this time. Linda Lane

Loveda is a person that was admired by many and lead by example, although I need never had the good fortune in meeting Loveda…..Her daughter Shantelle reflects all of Loveda’s qualities and goodness in giving back daily to the community. Loveda’s spirit will live on through Shantelle, Bobby and her grandchildren and will remain in our hearts forever. Robin

Shantelle, in honor of your lovely mother I would like to share with you one of my favorite prayer.

“God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

as it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things right

if I surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy in this life

and supremely happy with Him

Forever in the next.

Amen.
