Mabel Lucille Haechler

November 5, 1910 – January 25, 2003

Mabel was born on November 5, 1910 to Robley and Mamie Read in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. She was the first born of eight children. Her brothers and sisters are: Marion Jenny, Leela Lilly, Hazel Hoard, Gordon Read, Velma Bowen Deceased, Charles Read Deceased, Vain Read Deceased.

She graduated from high school and normal school and spent one year as a schoolteacher.

She had 5 children: Robert Reed, Russell Reed, Donald Haechler, Charles Haechler, Marigene Haechler, and two step children: Frances Haechler Dixon, and Fred Haechler.

The family moved from Wisconsin in 1944 to Tacoma, WA. where they lived for 2 years, then moved to Seattle, where she spent the remainder of her life. She went to work at Associated Grocers in 1949, working there for 25 years until she retired in 1974. She was for many years a member of the Presbyterian Church on Beacon Hill.

She enjoyed 28 years of retirement and spent the last year of her life in decline at Adelines Adult Family Home in Lacy, where she was treated with dignity and respect and passed on to be with her Lord on January 25, 2003 at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Fred Haechler, and 3 of her siblings. She is survived by her siblings: Marion, Leela, Hazel, and Gordon, and all of her children, Grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She loved us all and was loved in return. For those of us that believe, we will see you in Glory.
