Pauline Ann Brown

March 17, 1940 - February 4, 2020

Obituary

Faithful servant of the Almighty, and preacher of the gospel, Pastor Pauline Anne Brown was called home early Tuesday morning February 4th, 2020.  She was born in Tucson Arizona on March 17th, 1940 from the union of Daniel and Estella Lee. Pauline was number 8 out of 10 children. Her siblings consisted of Charles Lee (passed on) Ben Esther Rivers, James Lee (passed on), Daniel “Bob” Lee (passed on), Wilma Jean Brooks, Harrison Lee, Lucrecia Burkes (passed on), Edward Crockett Lee, and Ruby Pleasant.  The family moved to Yakima Washington when Pauline was very young. She obtained her high school diploma from AC Davis and her LPN from Yakima Valley College.
She moved to Seattle in the early 60’s and began nursing at the Doctor’s Hospital. Not yet saved, she often spoke of how ministers would come by and witness and try to convert her to Christ. Being very astute along with being raised in a God fearing environment, she found it amusing to trip up and try and out smart the witnessing ministers. But one day while attending Jackson St. Church of God, with no intentions of getting saved, the conviction of the Holy Spirit rested on her so heavy she could no longer resist and yielded her life to Christ. Never looking back. Shortly thereafter she received her calling to the ministry and began evangelizing and teaching with the team of Sis. Yvonne Duke and Viola Brown Lee, under the tutelage of Dr. Otis F. Brown and Dr. Johnny Mae Brown. As an evangelist she traveled to many different states, participating in various camp meetings and revivals teaching and preaching the gospel.
After a few years of ministering the gospel, and having many suitors, she did meet The Man. That man being Moses E. Brown. On July 19th, 1968 she married Moses E. Brown. To that union were born 4 sons. Paul, Frederick (proceeded her in passing on), Andre’ and Jonathan. As Pauline and Moses reared their children they attended South Side Church of God later to be named 20th St. Church of God.
After operating in an interim capacity for a couple of years, she became the full time pastor in November of 1991 with a directive and mission statement of being Independently dependent upon God. Pastor Pauline Brown was a true student of the word. She believed whole heartedly in living a holy life set apart for God's use and refused to compromise one iota. Taught of the Holy Spirit, she lived and taught by a high standard. Most times you would find her reading hours on end studying and meditating on the word of God preparing to feed God's people. She has demonstrated an unquenching passion for souls being saved and an unyielding desire to please Father God with her life.  Her assignments have included travels to Russia, India, and Montreal.  Although her assignments here on Earth have ended, her impact and lessons taught will remain in the hearts and minds of those she was assigned to. She was a true giver, she was loved and will be greatly missed.
All praises to the Most High for the life she lived and the example she demonstrated !
