Donna George Dunning

April 25, 1937 - October 6, 2026

An elderly woman with short gray hair and a floral kimono sitting in an armchair with a small, light-colored dog on her lap.

Donna George Dunning, lovingly known as “Gigi,” passed away in Seattle, with her daughter Dianne and beloved canine companion, Harper, by her side.

Gigi lived a remarkable 89 years, devoted to her family and to a lifetime of service to others. After the loss of her life partner, David, in 2014, she continued to embrace life with strength and grace—first in the Laurelhurst community and later at Skyline Retirement Community.

She was a loving sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, mentor, and educator. Gigi will be remembered for her intelligence, wit, strong work ethic, humor, and grace—and, above all, for the kindness she showed to everyone she met.

We will miss her dearly and love her forever.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. She would have loved for family and friends to gather and share fond memories of her.

In her memory, please consider donating to Washington Education Association Children’s Fund:
