Patricia Ann Maples

Patricia Ann Maples of Seattle, WA passed away on Tuesday September 15th, 2026 at her home in West Seattle, peacefully surrounded by family and friends.  Patricia passed away after a 6 year battle with Melanoma Cancer.  She was 74 years old.

Patricia was born on March 31st, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to Grover (Len) and Phyllis Cowan.  Patricia graduated from Queen Anne Highschool, Seattle, WA in 1970.  She was also a member of Jobes Daughters International.  After Highschool Patricia married and had her two daughters Malinda McMinn and Kari McMinn.

40 years ago Patricia met and married John Maples Jr.  Through their 40 years of companionship, together, they spent their time; going to their property in Sequim, fishing, going to the Eagles Club, going to Mason Lake, and just spending time with family and friends at their home in West Seattle.  Patricia like to bake and was a wonderful cook. Patricia spent most of her adult life working for various companies providing accounting services.  She worked at an Insurance Underwriter’s, Car Dealership, Steel Mill Plant, and the Seattle School District.

Patricia was baptized a Lutheran and confirmed in faith. She was also a godmother to Dina Cowan. Patricia had a strong belief in the lord her savior and was ready for her heavenly trip to be with mom and dad. She read her prayer book every day and enjoyed the spiritual enlightenment she gained from those morning readings.

6 years ago Patricia was diagnosed with Melanoma Cancer.  After having the cancer removed, it came back 4 1/2 years ago.  Patricia tried all medical treatments possible to fight the cancer.  In the end the cancer took her life on September 15th, 2026.

Patricia Ann Maples is survived by her Husband John Maples Jr., Brother Dana (Pam) Cowan, Sister Suzelle Cowan, Daughters Malinda (Joe) Mcminn, and Kari (Rich) McMinn, Granddaughter Daisy (Erik) Maki, Great Grandson Leif Valdez, Nieces, Nephews, and their respected families. Patricia is also survived by her Step-Children.  Daughters Lisa Maples, and Teri Maples-ELery, Sons Corey (Dawn) Maples, and Beau (Kirsten) Maples.  Patricia was a Mom, a Friend, and Grandma to her step-children and their respected families.

Patricia, Trish, Tweety, Mom, Fluff, Aunty, Grandma…Patricia was everything, a wife, a mother, a friend, she was someone special.  She was kind and loving, she is going to be greatly missed.  We love you.

Patricia’s Funeral will be held on Tuesday September 29, 2026 at Bonney Watson Funeral Home in Sea-Tac, WA.  Viewing at 12:30 pm followed by a gravesite service at 2:00pm.
