Obituary

Kathleen Dawn Page was born on October 10, 1957, in Los Angeles, California. At the age of 6 months, along with her mother, she attended her first General Conference of Seventh Day Adventist in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1958, she was blessed by Elder Rothacker Smith at the Sharon Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church in Inkster, Michigan. At age 8, Kathleen was baptized by Horace Barker at the K Street SDA Church in San Bernardino, California and she has always been an active member of the SDA denomination.

She attended both SDA and public grade schools in Inkster, MI and Southern California. During her high school years, she attended Morningside High School. Kathleen married her first husband and subsequently had 4 children, Alena Danyeille, Donald Earl III, Kiersa Juanita, and Kyle David who preceded her in death after his birth in 1986.

Kathleen was avid and persistent in pursuing her education. She received dual Associate degrees from El Camino Community College in Torrance, CA and South Seattle Community College in Seattle, WA. Kathleen went on to receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations from Brenau Women’s University in Gainesville, GA in 1997. She also achieved her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington (Tacoma) Tacoma, WA in 2012.

As a social worker with the Department of Social and Health Services, Kathleen developed close bonds with the children she worked with, and they relied on her for prayer, comfort, and encouragement. She also held other meaningful positions that include 8 years with the City of Seattle in Community Development; and her most rewarding position was with Coordinated Care as an educational consultant for foster parents across Washington.

Kathleen was a joy to be around, and she lit up the room with her beautiful smile. On February 14, 2004, she married the love of her life, Joseph Russell Page, at Mt. Tahoma Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tacoma, WA. He adored her, and their 14 years together was the happiest time of her life. They were happily married until his death on October 1, 2018. Kathleen so loved her family. Her three children were the reason for her continuing on to do her best. Daily, she doted and prayed for her five grandchildren. She adored her uncles and aunts and always made time for her cousins. She had a great sense of humor and loved to dress up and make her family laugh.

Kathleen went to sleep in Jesus on November 14, 2021. She is survived by her children, Alena Alves, Doni Alves and Kiersa Alves; her grandchildren, Donnel Alves-Burr, Akanesi Alves, Yosheyah Alves, T’oa Alves, and Moema Betts; her brothers Calvin Harris, Craig Harris, Dan (Melissa) Harris, and Carl Harris; her mother, Donna Manier; her father, Robert Bishop (deceased); her goddaughter, Nicole Morgan; stepdaughter, Lashawn Finklea; her aunts, Bettye Blakeney and Patricia (Michael) Perkins; her uncles, Norris Manier (Sharon) and Linton Manier (Barbara).
