Delphia Louise Wilson was born on July 12, 1959, and peacefully transitioned on February 8, 2026. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought warmth, joy, and light to everyone she encountered.
Delphia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Catherine Wilson; her father, Samuel Wilson Sr.; and her brother, Samuel Wilson Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Shawanda; her treasured grandchildren, Zaire and Azariah; her loving sisters, Belinda Johnson (Wilson) and Cozette (Coco) Snipes (Wilson); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A proud graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 1977, in Tacoma, Washington. Delphia was honored as a debutante, reflecting her grace, beauty, and strong presence even in her younger years. Shortly after, she attended Evergreen State College. She was widely known and deeply admired for her talent as one of the most popular braiders in her community, dedicating many years to her craft and leaving her mark through both her skill and her kindness.
Delphia was a genuinely loving and caring soul with an infectious spirit and radiant smile that could brighten any room. Her laughter, comedic personality, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Delphia’s legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched.
