Doris Elaine Seeger

Obituary

Doris Elaine Seeger, of Burien Washington, Loving wife, mother, and friend, passed away peaceably on January 5, 2022 at the age of 80.  She had a deep Christian Faith and went out of her way to serve and care for others. We know that she is now with her Heavenly Father.

She was born on February 9, 1941 in Sisters, Oregon, to Harvey and Wilma Brandon.

              Doris attended Business College in Salem, OR. where she met her husband to be Jerry Seeger.   They were married on November 19, 1960 and moved to Seattle WA. where they had two children, Shawn and Kirk.

              She worked as a administrative secretary at the Highline School District Administration Office in Burien and later as an Office Manager at Hilltop Elementary School.  She loved working with children and parents. She was awarded the Golden Acorn Award and a scholarship designated in her name.

              She retired early from Highline School District to follow her true vocation and love of being a grandmother and being of service to others through volunteering. She enjoyed and cherished memories of teaching young mothers, children and youth at their Church home of 61 years, Normandy Christian Church. She served as a Deaconess and in many areas of service. She was truly a role model and inspired others through her love and compassion.

              She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, working puzzles, crocheting and beating her husband at Yahtzee. She donated many handmade items to Seattle Children’s Hospital of which she was a SeaTac Guild member for many years. She loved being a soccer and little league mom (“Sideline coach”). She enjoyed being with her boys as a Cub Scout Den Leader. She loved camping, traveling, fun and ruckus filled family gatherings.

              Doris was known for her laughter and contagious smile always trying to make others feel at ease and instilling comfort and happiness. She was definitely a people person. Family and friends meant everything to Doris and she will be dearly missed and always remembered.

              Doris is survived by her husband of 61 years Jerry Seeger; sons, Shawn Seeger and wife Laura, and Kirk Seeger; six grandchildren, TJ Wise, Jason Wise, Jarett Seeger, Austin Seeger, Sara Seeger, and Brandon Seeger; and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Linda (Wilson) Phillips, and Cheryl (Wilson) Krattiger. And is proceeded by two brothers, Dale Brandon, and Doyle Brandon.

Doris was great. When my husband and I ministered in Sisters, she and her family did all of our baby sitting. We loved her dearly. Am keeping the family in my prayers.
