Many great memories with Johnny!!! First of all, we had a lot to talk about being nurses and how so much as changed in nursing over the years. I am the youngest daughter of Ramona Shively and lived near Seattle for 5 yrs. Any chance I could, I would go visit Jack and Johnny and enjoy a GREAT bowl of the best Clam Chowder in town!!!! You all know where that was of those that new them well. We spent much time driving along the waterfront and stopping at the park to visit. They were all great memories and I will always treasure her stories. She will be missed terribly.

I remember Johnny and Jack as always fun, happy people. When they came to visit us, my mom, Edith Guthrie, was Jack’s sister, I couldn’t wait because I knew everyone would be laughing and having a great time! My sister, Ramona, who lives in Golden now, lived with them for a time when she was young, they were very dear to her and will be missed.

Love, Kay Guthrie and Ramona Shively

Iam sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. My name is Mary Craig, my Mother was Edith Guthrie, sister to your Dad. I was out in Seattle a few years ago and got to visit with your Johnny and Mike. I remember how I always admired her when I was a little girl when your family would come to visit. I know you will miss her. May God bless you and your family. Richie & Mary Craig

To Chuck, Diana, Melissa, Tony and Keenan:

Just received notice from Iris Chestnut about your Mom and Grandma. No words can express condolences. Just know that others will miss her as well, even though we hadn’t seen her in a long time we still thought about her on multiple occasions. We had several enjoyable trips to Seattle to see both her and Jack and will never forget the great time they showed us. Our thoughts are with you. Love Jay and Connie Spicer

Sorry for your loss.

Mr. and Mrs. Sparks were the best of neighbors. I will be reminded of them when I see a “Block-watch” decal.

I went to high school with Mike, and will think of him at this years 40th reunion.

Kathy and I will never forget the Sparks family for being good neighbors and friends.
