My prayers are with you all: Cher, Jean, Zelfa.

I will always remember Gene as the second Dad he was to me in my teens. We had a lot of fun together. My family will always be grateful for his kindness!

Remembering the good times. DeMolay, Rainbow, and Jobies. Gene was a fine man and mason, and an inspiration to all of us who were fortunate to know him.

I have always thought that life is made up of a few big moments and endless “little” moments. With you Grandpa, I have both. I have fishing trips, ferry boats, seemingly endless car rides to the bus stop so I could go to a good school, birthdays, holidays, jobie events, weddings, childbirths and countless events that are just too many to list. God has blessed me with your presence and now you bless him with yours. Thank you for the honor of being your grandaughter. I will cherish forever our conversations, your one-liners and your love and gentleness towards family. I love you and you will always live inside of me. God Bless.

There are so many things to say, but somehow its the small things that I remember the most. I remember how proud you were of me when I came home with more fish than any of the men that I was fishing with.I know I learned my never give up attitude from you, and my love for animals. Family is the most important thing. I am so glad that you are my dad. Please look down on us from time to time and know there will alway be a easy chair and a crossword puzzle book waiting for you…Your loving daughter..

Dear Family:

I did not know Gene well, but he was always very nice to me. I especially remember he and Zelfa helping me out to catch the train to meet Cher, Dave and Ted in Wenatchee. He entertained me, making me laugh, while allowing me to wait at their house for a few hours until time to catch the train, and then taking me to the train station. I always enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Gene and Zelfa’s house and listening to Gene tell stories about old times. He will be missed by many people. My deepest sympathies to the entire family, but especially Zelfa, whom I know will miss him the most.

I bet you didn’t know that you were my favorite uncle…

when I was growing up it seemed like you were always around. I remember waking up at the cabin and you and Dad would be up drinking coffee and doing your crosswords. I will treasure my memories of you enjoying yourself at the cabin. I will miss you Uncle Gene. Love, Shell Bell

I did not get to know you the way that I would have liked, and that seems unfortunate, because, from the sounds of things, you seemed to be a great person. You will be loved and missed by all who new you.. Love your oldest and only grandson, Greg… goodbye!!!!
