Obituary

Jack Francis Burckhard, age 83, passed away on November 5, 2004 in Tacoma, WA. Jack was raised in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He served in the Army during WWII with the American Division on Guadal Canal and various other duty stations. After being honorably discharged from the service, he moved to Kodiak, Alaska where he worked for the Federal Government until his retirement in 1977. He moved his family to Federal Way, WA where he resided until his death. Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, June; one son, Jack P. Burckhard Mary; 3 daughters, Susan Wells, Marthea Burckhard, Paula Burckhard; 5 grandchildren, Alecia Frank, Scott, Christopher Angela, Daniel and Sarah Dewud; 7 great grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Zachery, Alexander, Nicholas, Andrew and Sierah; one brother, Alex Burckhard Isabel; 4 sisters, Lena Schepp, Helen Schepp, Cecelia Madson and Bette Zych; numerous nieces and nephews. Jack is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Johanna Wells in 1991, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, 11/11/04 at 12:30 PM at BONNEY-WATSON Federal Way, 1535 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA 253 839-7317. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph Kidney Dialysis Center, 1717 South J Street, Tacoma, WA 98401 in memory of Jack Burckhard. The family would like to thank all of the staff at St. Joseph Medical Center and the Kidney Dialysis Unit. A special thanks to Dr. John A. Kennedy and his office staff for their loving support and kindness.
