Janet Jean “Jan” Landry Perrine, born February 18, 1938, in Seattle, Washington, to Al and Peggy Landry, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, with her son by her side.

Growing up alongside her three brothers and sister, Jan spent her youth taking in the best of the Pacific Northwest between Seattle and Portland. After graduating from Holy Angels High School, she attended the University of Portland, where her magnetic energy found a natural home on the cheerleading squad. In August of 1958, her spirit of adventure led her to take flight—literally—as a stewardess with United Airlines.

In 1963, Jan married United Airlines Captain David Patrick Perrine, and together they welcomed two sons; Jason and Matthew. Airline life took their young family through Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago and Thousand Oaks, CA, before the Northwest eventually called them back home to the Seattle area in 1976.

Before her illness, Jan lived life with a luminous flair. She worked as a part-time real estate agent and was a deeply devoted mother, but she was perhaps best known for her unforgettable presence. Whenever Jan walked into a room, she dazzled it. She possessed a rare charm, a warmth that drew people in, and a natural gift for throwing parties that brought family and friends together.

Jan’s life was marked not only by joy, but by profound resilience. Following the heartbreaking loss of her son Jason in 1980, Jan suffered a catastrophic brain aneurysm and series of strokes in August 1992. The strokes severely limited her physical movement and her ability to speak, trapping a sharp, vibrant mind inside a body that no longer cooperated. Though communicating became a quiet struggle, Jan’s strength never wavered. For 34 years, she endured, survived, and continued to radiate love and joy in her own quiet, powerful way.

Her family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated friends and family members who went out of their way over the years to visit Jan, bridging the gap of communication with love and keeping her connected to the world.

For the last 32 years of her life, Jan made her home at the Corwin Center at Emerald Heights in Redmond WA. The family wishes to express their profound, heartfelt appreciation to the extraordinary staff at the Corwin Center. Their boundless love, tender care, and daily encouragement made Jan’s long journey comfortable, dignity-filled, and rich with compassion.

Jan was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Perrine, and her brother, Ken Landry, and her former husband David Perrine. She is survived by her son, Matt Perrine; her cherished grandchildren, Nate and Alden; her brothers, Al and Lee; and her sister, Leille.

A private family gathering to celebrate Jan’s life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly encourages gifts or donations to be made directly to the dedicated staff at the Corwin Center at Emerald Heights, in honor of the exceptional care and love they gave to Jan for so many years.
