Kim Robert Conder was born on May 15, 1953, the second son of Fern and Robert Conder. He grew up in Des Moines, Washington, alongside his older brother, Ken Conder, in a close-knit community that shaped his early years and values. He attended Mount Rainier High School, graduating in 1972 and stepping into adulthood with a strong foundation of perseverance and curiosity.
Following his education, Kim built a long and dedicated career as a metrologist with the Boeing Company, where he worked for more than four decades. His expertise in precision measurement and quality assurance contributed to a number of significant aerospace projects over the years, including work related to the Boeing E-3 Sentry and the Northrop B-2 Spirit. Through his work, he played a role in advancing complex aviation technologies, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and technical skill throughout his career.
At the age of 27, Kim entered into his first marriage with Rochelle Huffman. Together they welcomed two daughters: Sarah, born in 1980, and Leah, born in 1982. Fatherhood became one of the defining roles of his life, and he took pride in raising his children with care and dedication.
In 1988, Kim met Nancy Walton, beginning a partnership that would span more than thirty years. Along with Nancy came her daughter, Kathleen, whom Kim embraced as his own from the very beginning. Their bond grew into a strong and loving family, and Kim and Nancy were later married, sharing a life grounded in commitment, faith, and companionship.
A lifelong Christian, Kim was devoted to his faith, continually seeking to grow in understanding and to share that faith with others. He found joy in simple pleasures—watching Western movies, reading, and spending time with those he loved most. He especially cherished long drives across Washington State and visits to the ocean, where he could relax and reflect.
Known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need, Kim was deeply loved by family and friends alike. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Hanratty and her husband Terry, Leah Conder, and Kathleen Walton and her husband Ryan, as well as his three grandchildren, Patrick Hanratty, Landon Fullerton, and Annabelle Fullerton.
Kim will be remembered as a hardworking man, a devoted father, and someone whose steady presence, kindness, and faith left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
