In Loving Memory of Marjorie “Joleen” Latham

Joleen Latham, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 15th surrounded by her loving family. Joleen was born in Salina, Kansas on June 18, 1940, to the late Edward Scheidt and Marjorie McKee, the oldest of 7 children.  She graduated from Federal Way High School in 1957. On December 6, 1958, she married James Lester Latham.

Joleen started work as a secretary for Boeing before becoming a full-time homemaker.

Joleen was full of life.  She was active, energetic, compassionate, fun, optimistic, interested and involved.   Joleen enjoyed hiking, traveling, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and tennis. Most importantly, her activities revolved around her family and friends. She was the quintessential mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Joleen is survived by her son Jeff Latham (Kim Latham) and two grandchildren Michael and Katie, daughter Heidi L’ Esperance (Rich Cleminson) and three grandchildren Brandon, Andrew, and Hayli along with eight great grandchildren, her son Jack Latham (Anna Latham) and two grandchildren Ellis and Asher, sisters Barbara Rodocker and Linda Kupka, and brothers Bob Scheidt and Brad Scheidt. She is predeceased by her husband Jim Latham, son Jay Latham, brother Bill Scheidt and sister Donna Whitney.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Washington Trails Association, Greg Ball Trail Fund, in memory of Joleen’s love of hiking the beautiful trails of the Pacific Northwest. You can donate online at www.wta.org/tribute
