Phillip Dwight Pendergraft passed away peacefully on February 27, 2010 in Des Moines, WA. He was born in Seminole, OK on March 25, 1931. Phil leaves his wife of 54 years Pauline, children; Dorothy Rudick Mike, Terry Brady Kathleen and Phyllis Byers Rick, grandchildren; Kelly, Tyler, Candi, Clay and Danica and great grandchildren; Cody, Trevor, Stephanie and Hannah. Phil was a veteran of the Korean War and worked for Liquid Carbonic in Customer Service and as a Boiler Engineer for over 30 years. He was an accomplished welder and although always denied it, he was very creative and imaginative. As an avid sportsman, he loved and respected all of nature’s wonders and beauty. Phil could be found working in his garden any time of the year and harvested prize winning pumpkins along with an annual bounty of produce. Friendly, talkative and generous, Phil was always willing to help anyone that needed help, talk to anyone that would listen and take care of all of those he loved. Whether it was crab fishing, playing with the grandkids or arguing about politics, Phil lived his life with passion and zest and anyone who has ever met him will always remember him. There was never a cup of coffee that Phil didn’t like and he always had an opinion to share on any topic. He will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

I worked for Worthington and B&K I did alot of work for and with Phil. He was a good man allways saying some thing nice about his family and his brothers. We made the stuff for the well drilling and the parts for the sawmill. Everyone liked Phil he was a hard worker. He was the best.
Words cannot express the love and gratitude I have for you being the wonderful father that you were. I will always cherish the special moments, laughter, life lessons and the unconditional love that you always gave to me and my family. For every moment of frustration, you showered me with several hours of wonderful memories. I love you Daddy and I’m so happy you are finally at peace. Light up a cigarette, pour glass of blackberry brandy and enjoy the eternal bliss you so deserve.
Phyllis, Dottie & Terry;
So sorry for the passing of Phil. I know it isn’t easy losing a parent. He was quite the character. He’s now in a better place and isn’t suffering any more. Take care of each other.

Uncle Phil was always so much fun to visit with. What a character! I loved hearing his opinions. I’m sure he’s working with the angels to help keep Heaven’s garden beautiful.
Phil,
Thank you for being such a neat character. I miss our conversations and strolls along the docks in Des Moines, the locks at Ballard and our visits in your garage. Thanks for being such a caring and giving man and friend.
Phyllis,

Phyllis and family, my heart goes out to you, no words can express my sorrow for you having lost your dad. I loved his sense of humor, he always made me laugh and was never lacking for jokes. He had a kind heart and it came through with the way he spoke to people.
