William “Bill” Hewitt Bernard, Retired CPO USN, age 81, passed away February 17, 2005 in Meridian, Idaho Joining his beloved wife, Carol “Kelly” Bernard, Bill is survived by 2 daughters, Debbie Hickman and Bambi Burrus; son, Gary Bernard; and 6 grandchildren, Jenny, Chris, Travis, Tarah, TJ and Trey. Bill honorably served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years and played an integral role in Naval Flight operations in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After retiring from the U. S. Navy, Bill moved Kelly and family to Seattle, WA and worked as an appraiser for King County for two decades. An avid skier, fisherman, golfer and traveler, Bill lived out his remaining years in Eagle, ID. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 11:00 AM at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 International Blvd., SeaTac, WA 206 242-1787. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to the Veterans Administration, Seattle, WA.
