SFC Mario M. Alegria
Departed: Apr 13, 2011
SFC Mario M. Alegria proudly and faithfully served his country for 32 years as a member of the US ARMY and Washington Army National Guard. He served through Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Mario was born in Villasis, Pangasinan, Philippines and immigrated to the United States in 1977. He died unexpectedly on April 13, 2011 while stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO. He leaves behind his wife of almost 22 years, Marissa and his only daughter, Andrea Andy.
There are no words to describe how much he will be missed by his family and countless friends all over the world. He touched many people with his unselfish nature, his compassion, and quick smile. Mario was looking forward to his retirement scheduled for this summer to spend more time at home with his family that he loved and took good care of. Our lives are forever changed with the loss of Mario as a husband, a father, brother, son, uncle, nephew and best friend. Once you meet him, he will be your friend for life.
