I am so sorry for your loss Leonard. I remember first meeting you at a community meeting, in the Skyway bowling alley, when I was still in high school and how happy I was to find you and Adeline at the Church, when I came to work there as the nursery attendant. She was such a wonderful, sweet lady. You both always made me feel welcome and respected, even as a teenager.

Oh this picture of aunty Adeline is so great it's just like she always was with a great BIG smile on her face! She had a pool in her back yard when I was (much) younger and it used to be a treat when my mom would take my brother and I over to swim at her house. It had to be really hot for any of the older crew to get in, most of the time they would just sit on their porch and talk while we had fun. When my kids were young we used to enjoy taking her and my grandma to lunch and then to walk through Walmart. Just so we could be together, they loved each other, they loved the kids and oh how they loved Jesus and wanted to pass that on to all of us. I think they did a pretty good job of it!! Most of you know my grandma, Juanita. Adeline's sister died just a few short months ago. They were both in the same hospital the night before my grandma passed away. While they were each to weak to go to each others rooms we made it possible for them to just talk for a minute on the phone. I was with my grandma in that time and oh how she lit up to get to talk to her sister. She said oh I will see you tomorrow. She just loved her sister, as we have. Thank God for the promise of eternity!! For the promise to see them and to live with you in eternity.

We have been truly blessed by having shared in some

precious moments with your wonderful family. Now she has

reached her reward and has quite a "Welcome Committee"

awaiting her, and the joy of looking ahead for that great

reunion of all of us.

I feel a special blessing in how each evening, for

many years, at a time we would designate, we would secretly send up a special prayer. I for her grandsons, Doug, Darren and she, our boys, Gods protection of their lives

May God comfort you at this time of feeling the great loss with His arms of love wrapped around each of you.

We are reminded of Psalm 116:15, " Precious in the sight of The Lord is the death of one of His saints." Adeline was certainly one of His best! She taught us a great deal about being a Christian through her lifestyle. She, and her husband, Lenord, are wonderful examples of truly loving The Lord, and their fellow man. Can you imagine the love she now knows? Many thanks to the Backman's for the love they shared with us.

To Leonard Backman, Donna Lombardi, Cindy & Kevin Sheely, my beloved friends from Skyway Church of God: I'm so saddened to hear that your beloved wife & mother is no longer on earth to bless you, the rest of your family, and all of the people that Adeline touched in her beautiful life. But, I am encouraged, as I know you are, that she is now with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Willie, the boys, and I remember you all with love! May the good memories comfort you in the coming difficult days when you'll miss her so much!

My deepest sympathies to Adeline's family. I remember her from church. She, along with her husband, were some of the kindest and most caring people I have ever met. Although she will be missed here on earth, she is now celebrating joyously with our Lord.

Cindy and family

I am do sorry for your loss. Your mother was so kind to me. Both at your home and at school. She always made sure I had extra food when I was on free lunch because my dad was laid off at Boeing and had gone back to school. I remember doing ceramics and meeting at your house before school and many stayovers. Blessings to you all and many happy memories. She will be with you every day.

I know my mom will have welcomed her to heaven.
