Kim’s teaching career included schools in Northern Germany for the Department of Defense and Southwest Washington, but the bulk of her teaching career was spent at Silver Lake Elementary School in Federal Way, Washington.
Kim made friends easily and was known as the “hostess with the mostess”. Kim loved to travel especially to the Big Island of Hawaii. She always had a plan and loved to be right. She was a fan of all Seattle sports teams, especially the Washington Huskies. She was always ready to share a glass of wine with family and friends and often a sassy comment too.
In retirement, she became a talented warm glass artist and loved her time in the glass studio teaching, making friends and creating beautiful pieces of art.
Kim and Rich were married for 30 years and often celebrated their anniversaries on Husky Apple Cup Day.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, 10/19, at 10:30am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Federal Way, WA. Reception will immediately follow.

Kim will be missed by me. She was so courageous! So glad that I was able to connect Rich and Kim together and was delighted to have her as my sister-in-law. I just knew they would be the perfect couple! Loved teaching with Kim and visiting Kim and Rich in Arizona. Rich, stay strong, I am thinking of you.
Remembering Kim as also smiling with a good word for everyone. Her glass work was beautiful and a definite reflection of her warm personality.
