Brenda Jewel Melin

October 20, 1941 - June 13, 2023

Obituary

Brenda was born in Derby, KS to Earl and Louise Brown.  When she was 8, her family moved to Washington, where after a few moves moved to Seattle.

Soon after graduating from Franklin High school in Seattle, she met her future husband, Richard Melin.  They married December 18, 1959.  They had 5 children together, and lived in Tacoma, Puyallup, Post Falls ID, and then ended in Ocean Shores.

She is survived by her husband Richard, Her 5 children Joann (Steven) Wittler, Kathleen Kirsch, John Melin, Joseph (Heather) Melin and Corey (Michelle) Melin, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.  Also, her brother Randy (Kelly) Brown, and her sister Lila V.  Also, many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was a housewife, but worked for Puyallup school district for a short time and then was an Avon representative for over 10 years.  She was a greeter at church and was also active in Women’s Aglow.

In her spare time, she loved to read, going for long walks, relax on the porch swing, long drives out in the country or city, and church activities.  But her heart was to spend time with her family.  She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, and it showed in everything she did.  Brenda was loved by many, she had the kindest heart, and would start talking to anyone that she came into contact with, and the first thing she would share would be about her children.  She leaves behind many memories that will be forever cherished.

She will be deeply missed, but we are all thankful that she is in Heaven, doing everything she loved to do, spending time with family and friends.  Until we meet again, we love you!
