Horace was a childhood friend of mine and Ms. Audrey was always like a second mother when I spent weekends with Horace and the Vandyke family whem thye lived on 23rd Avenue and when they later moved to Des Moines. Ms. Audrey was always a nice and kind lady, who spoiled Horace and I with great childhood goodies and lots of fun over the weekends that I spent together with the family..

She and Gene were great to be around and always took care of me very well; sometimes we would go fishing!
