Obituary
In Loving Memory of Carmen Yvonne Walker
August 30, 1965-September 3, 2011
Carmen was the fifth daughter born to Freddie Mae ‘Freida’ Walker. A ‘Daddy’s Girl’, she was her deceased father, James’s pride and joy. Over the years, her bubbly personality, beautiful smile and sharp sense of humor was her trademark with family, friends and all who met her.
A unique and generous person, stubbornly independent and opinionated, Carmen was always brutally honest and a force to be reckoned with. She spoke her mind regardless and would ‘let ’em have it’ whenever she felt it necessary!
Carmen had a big heart, loved family and was a loyal friend and ‘homey’. She was full of joy, loved telling stories, and brought people together. She loved to cook, eat good, and have a cold one.
A daughter, sister, friend, and most especially a mother, she deeply loved her only son, Antwan. Carmen was ‘Solid Gold’.
She is survived by her mother, son Antwan J. Porter, her sisters Leathia Krasucki, Kathy Hatcher, Oneida, Theresa, and Cecilia Kirksey, and her brother James, Jr. and numerous other family members and close personal friends.
Please know that I am sorry to hear about your loss. This may be one of the hardest things any of us will ever have to cope with. May the Bible verse at Psalm chapter 34 verse 18 bring you comfort now and in the days ahead. With deepest sympathy.
Baby Sis,
You left a legacy that will endure in our hearts forever! You weren’t here long but your spirit will live in us….Love you girl.
