Carol Chesney Farrell
Carol was born in Perkins, Oklahoma on March 18, 1932, and died November 7, 2006. She died in her home in Kent, Washington after several years of illness, and she did so with dignity and grace.
She leaves a legacy of one daughter, Cindy Bogar of Seattle, Washington, and one son, Rob Chesney of Port Angeles, Washington. She also leaves two beloved granddaughters, Shinehah Shay Bogar and Anabelle Rose Chesney. She is survived by her sisters, Charlavan Baker Hart of Lakeside, California and Linda Klinger of Stillwater, Oklahoma as well as one sister-in-law, Maybelle Mullen of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has many nieces, nephews and friends who loved and respected her.
Preceded in death were her parents, Rosa Lynn and Lawrence Baker, of Perkins, Oklahoma and her brother, Jack Baker, of Houston, Texas as well as her husband of 19 years, Robert P. Chesney.
Carol moved to the Seattle area 50 years ago. She and her then husband Robert began to work for Boeing and became actively involved in numerous organizations and associations including square dancing where she met some of her nearest and dearest life-long friends.
Most of Carol’s professional career was spent with Boeing Aircraft, and she retired after having served some 18 years. She took time away from Boeing to raise her family and was active in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, a member of the Methodist Church, and played a large role in the PTA as well as the numerous school activities her children were involved in. Carol also owned and operated several businesses. She retired into a world of computers and was an active founding member of Senior Net, operated an online business, and set up a “family happenings” website which were greatly loved and appreciated by many.
Carol had a wide array of personal interests and hobbies that she pursued throughout her life. She loved pottery, crochetting, sewing, painting, to name a few, and most enjoyed creating things that could be shared with others. Carol also had an avid interest in restoring and collecting vintage dolls and jewelry and was well schooled in their history.
Services will be conducted for her at Strode’s Funeral Chapel in Perkins, Oklahoma on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at 1:00 pm. The family requests that donations be made to their favorite charities.
