Caroline Adele Cunningham

October 12, 1925 - January 19, 2014

Obituary

Our beloved Caroline Cunningham passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family members January 19, 2014.  She was born in Everett, October 12, 1925, daughter to Stuart and Carrie Brown.  She was preceded by a daughter Lynn, a son Terry, and her husband Jim.  She is survived by her daughter Penny Schumacher in Redmond, son Gary Cunningham in Yakima, and daughter Cheryle Slow in Burien.  Also a brother George Brown in Arlington and a sister Helen Swilling in Baker City, Or.  She has 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Caroline was very proud of her Indian heritage, part of the Yakima Nation.  She loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing and camping.  She enjoyed Indian Pow Wows, listening to the drums and chants and watching the dancers, especially the children dancers.  Her quiet demeanor allowed her to get along with everyone.  Never a negative word from her and she was always supportive of her children and grandchildren.   She provided a calming influence to all around her.  She loved garage sales and had a hard time passing one up, always wanting to stop just to have a look.  And of course that eventually would lead to her holding her own garage sales with the help of Cheryle and granddaughter Ashley Lafferty to get rid of the stuff she bought.  In effect, she was just making room to buy more gems from other garage sales that she would soon find.   While home if not spending time with great grandchildren she loved to watch sports, about anything except soccer.  She was a great fan of the Seahawks and Husky football.  Caroline loved working on puzzles, the big hard puzzles.  She supported the WW ll war effort as a welder.  Caroline was deeply loved by many and will always be missed. To state it simply, she was an incredible woman.

Going to miss your lunch rock in the summertime. Thank you for the love of my Indian heritage. Love of the out doors and my eyes.
