Dear Cher and Family,

Craig was like my brother, as you all know. I feel so fortunate that I was able to take a couple of those walks at the Des Moines Marina and chat with him last summer while visiting. It was good to talk and reminiscence of our growing up.

Tom was always impressed with Craig’s ablility in gymnastics…what strength and grace he had.

You will be missed, never forgotten and always in our thoughts. Rest in peace “Brother”.

I had the privilege to know and work for Craig for only a year or two. He was a very kind, gentle, and fair person. I enjoyed knowing and working for him. My condolences to the family.

may flat waters and good breezes accompany your sailing and uncrowded roads and warm clear weather accompany your cycling. I will miss your presence here on this earth Craig and I still covet that 1000 mission hat and big smile that was so much a reminder of your image in my memory. ” GOD SPEED” David

To the Family of Craig…we got to know Craig on our daily morning walks at the Des Moines Marina over the past few years and want to tell you what a nice man he was to us and what an inspiration it was to see him out there every day rain or shine, wind or calm and always greeting us with a smile and good conversation and of course the ever present cookie treat for our dog Simon! He will be greatly missed by all of us who got to know and count on seeing him almost daily. Our thoughts are with him and all of you during this time of celebrating his life.

Jerry & I got to know Craig on our morning walks through the Des Moines Marina. Craig always had something to contribute to the moring conversation and tho he may not have been feeling up to par, there was always a smile on his face and glint in his eye. We had an ongoing contest to see who could find the most money coins in the marina parking lots. We were constantly trying to best each other at this; which was done with a whole lot of ribbing and laughter. When Craig stopped walking regularly we missed him and his sometimes companion Mitzi. We now feel a great loss each morning knowing we won’t be chatting with Craig. Rest in peace Craig, you will be forever in our hearts!

Dearest Cheri,

Words can’t express the sorrow that we hold for you at what we just discovered with the passing of Craig. Shirley and I just found out today as I googled Craig’s name out of curiosity about the whereabouts of You and He after all these years.

Parkinson’s is a terrible affliction as the nation discovered with the recent passing of Robin Williams. God Bless you and your son for your loss. We’re so sorry! As you know, Craig was a great friend in spite of my lack of communication with you and him after all these years. Please forgive us.

I have so many great memories of when Craig and I ran together in Hawaii while my folks and his were living down there back in 1964.

Cheri, both Shirley and I have vivid memories of both of you driving down to San Bernardino, CA to attend our wedding back in 1970. It meant so much to us to think of you traveling that far to be with us on that special June day.

I recall attending your wedding and being asked by Craig to be one of his ushers. That was back in 1965, as I recall. I still have the cuff link and tie bar set that you and Craig gave me.

Both Shirley and I are retired and have lived here in Ft. Worth, TX since being transferred here with GTE (now Verizon) in 1981. I stay busy working part time for a local Home Depot store near us. We had two kids, our son “Robby” and our daughter, Jennine. Both are in their early 40’s and are both married and have blessed us with five grand kids. I was so glad to see that you and Craig had a son. I just know that he must have been very proud of his dad (and Mom).

Cheri, our home address is 3932 Longleaf Lane, Fort Worth, TX 76137 and our phone number is 817-232-4332. Shirley and I send our much belated condolences with our apologies.

Cheri, our phone number is (817)232-4332

God Bless you and your son.

Love,

Bob & Shirley LaMay

Cheryl

I was doing some research on the Internet and was saddened to learn (somewhat belatedly) of Craig’s death. I don’t know if you remember me, but I worked with Craig at the Army medical lab in NY city. Hopefully this message will reach you.
