Obituary
Donald Eugene Case was born December 14, 1929 in Sunnyside, WA to Elbert and Leola Case. In 1948, he graduated from Cleveland High School and was involved in the Kings of Swings Band playing both the clarinet and the saxophone. In 1952, he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in transportation. Donald worked at the National Transfer Company for 10 years until he found his career with Boeing Company. He retired after 32 years as a Senior Procurement Manger.
Beyond his working career, Donald was also a Scout Leader of Pack and Troop #244 in Seattle. He loved tending to the garden that his wife, Jackie, and he created as well as traveling to various places by train in the United States such as Surfcrest in Ocean City, Reno and Branson and traveled to other countries like England. Donald was also a very avid Husky and Seahawks fan and known for changing a conversation with “How about those Seahawks?”
Donald died on July 24, 2015 at Valley Medical Center in Renton, WA. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jacquelyn (Miller) Case; his 4 children Mark, Scott (Linda), Tracy (Jim) Arnold, and Mishell (Sean Bauer) Case Postma; 5 grandchildren, Jeff (Jenny) Case, Jennifer Case, Hunter and Tyler Arnold and Alexandria Postma; and two great-grandchildren Becky and Michael. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Jackie) Case, Sean’s children; Chris, Josh and Kaylee and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
As we read the obituary of Don’s passing, many fond memories of our time spent with Don and Jackie with the English Springer Spaniel Club surfaced and we were reminded of the very good times we had with such wonderful friends. As we moved further to the north end of the County and both of our families became involved with children activities and work commitments, we lost touch with each other but never forgot those times.
Our thoughts are with you Jackie as you and your family continue without Don.

I worked with Don regarding the Cleveland High School Memorial Forest. I had a great time with him over many years. Don was a kind & generous man who gave time and patience to the CHS Memorial Forest. I taught at CHS for 27 years and I am very proud of that. Together, we have tried to keep the Forest a live in the hearts of today’s youth. That is a tall order, but we keep trucking along. I will miss Don.
