I had the pleasure of connecting with Dr. Smith through a scholarship project to honor one of our retired members, Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet Dr. Smith in person, but our faculty who knewhim said that Joe and Darrlyn were fine people who made the world a better place.

Thank you to Dr. Smith’s family for directing donations to the Seattle University College of Education. Our thoughts and prayers are with you

I was saddened to hear about my friend Joseph Smith. I met Joe when I was twelve years old. I shall always cherish our friendship. When my brother died in 2011, he was very thoughtful and helpful to me. My condolences are with the family. I wish for Joe eternal peace. He lived a good life.
