Ella Jane (Burnett) Brown

Ella Brown died peacefully at the age of 85 of heart failure. Ella was born January 1, 1927 in Hewitt, Minnesota to parents Jennie (Eaton) and Alfred Burnett. She was the first baby born in the new year in Todd County, MN. She was preceded in death by seven siblings; brothers LeRoy, Robert, Charles, George, Irvin; her sisters, Beverly Rasmussen and Della Rhodes; and husband of 52 years, Frank Joseph Brown. Ella is survived by daughters, Jennifer Falcone (Alan), Nancy Stewart (Tim Schlecht) and son Roger Brown (Linda). She is also survived by grandchildren, Erin Brown, Emily Brown, Tristan Stewart, Whitney Stewart and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ella worked at Frederick & Nelson for 25 years and was known as ‘EJ’ by her friends and co-workers. She enjoyed attending many F&N reunion luncheons. She was known for her genial attitude and willingness to help. Ella loved to read, take walks, listen to opera music and take trips to Hawaii with her sister, Della.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Providence Mount St. Vincent for their excellent care and concern during the past 3 years and the staff of Virginia Mason Hospital for their care of her during her final week.

Ella requested cremation and scattering of her ashes in the Pacific Ocean. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances to Providence Mount St Vincent Foundation, 4831 35th Ave. SW, Seattle, WA 98126. There will be no memorial service.
